Mission Statement

SACLG is a non-religious, nonpolitical, not for profit organization with the goal to works as a conduit between Australia and South Asia region to help establish a strong linkage to promote greater understanding between South Asian cultures and Australian way of life and advocate harmony, unity and peace amongst multi-faiths.

Activities

  • Organize discussion forum on contemporary topics of relevance to South Asian Region and Australia.
  • Work closely with South Asian Community’s organizations on issues of community’s interests and concerns.
  • Organize multi-faiths workshop /seminar to increase broader understandings amongst various faiths.
  • Organize interactive dialog forum between Government representatives and SACLG groups.
  • Represent SACLG to VMC and Government meetings at state and federal levels and provide feedback and input into policy matters of the South Asian region.
  • Support community organisations by extending active support through partnership and collaboration.

The countries of the South Asia region present an enormous and immensely rich diversity of language, culture, tradition, art and cuisine. This diversity is well represented in Victoria and all over Australia. These countries have been achieving steady economic growth in recent years and present tremendous potential for the expansion of trade and business links.
