iii) representing and connecting communities voice and concerns to policy makers. SACLG proposed program focus in 2018-2020 on South Asia Day, Youth and Woman Empowerment and Diabetics Awareness Fair are research based long term strategic initiatives and will unite South Asian Communities together and enable them to play a proactive and constructive role to address emerging underpinning issues.
The above initiatives are well aligned to the core objectives of South Asian Ministerial Advisory Council (SAMAC) and Victoria Multicultural Commission (VMC) which emphasizes and expect largest CALD South Asian Communities to play a more proactive and meaningful role at policy and ground levels to maximize the benefit of its rich diversity to community and State prosperity.
SACLG Executive and planning meeting is held quarterly and provides an opportunity to share and exchange ideas on issues of community’s concerns. SACLG executive team would take the opportunity to thank and express sincere gratitude to Victorian Government, Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC) , different local councils and all community organizations for their feedback and support. The team would also like to acknowledge South Asian Community’s organisations for their continued support and goodwill.
