South Asian community integration challenges and resolutions

South Asian Community Link Group Australasia (SACLG) is organising a multicultural seminar on ”  Integration challenges in South Asian migrants youth communities”  on 21st July, 2018.

This  program will focus on  challenges faced by south asian migrant youth communities  and compare  their mindset, perception and approach to multiculturalism. This one day workshop is designed to bring youths from the  south asian communities to share their experiences and discuss the attributing barrier factors such as linguistic, cultural, Employment, sports and policy gaps with peoples from academic, judiciary, government and community sectors with the aim to understand the complexity of issues and help address them.

The program will outline key challenges for integrations and will review government policy and provide recommendations. The discussion outcome will enable youth to take proactive leadership role to deal with issues and address future challenges. The program highlight includes:

  • Participation from south Asian community organizations.
  • Representation from federal and state government, Hume City Council, Victorian Multicultural Commission and Universities.
  • Presentation and case studies on south Asian integration challenges.
  • Group discussion forums and recommendations.
